Pumpkin Patch!

We headed out to the pumpkin patch south of Laurel today right after picking up Macy from school. We were very close to being late to get her because we stopped in at Walmart to pick up some pictures and Stuart had to use the restroom. He ran ahead and went into the men's room instead of the family one. We sat outside waiting and waiting for him. Finally some people that we recognized from church came along with their two children and I asked the man to see if Stuart was in the men's room. He was. Why he does that to me is far beyond my mind, but this is the second time that he has done it. Well, that guy ended up helping him. I felt so bad, but was so thankful that they came along. What would I have done with Myles and Fiona while trying to sneek into the men's room to help him? How do I convince him that he either needs to take care of himself or go somewhere where momma can help him? Okay, on to the fun....

Starting the search for the perfect one...

Fiona was so excited to touch one!

"this one is my pumken"...but it was too big....

"it's too heaby, it's heaby; it's a baby pumken, I want it"

Heading farther out in search of some better pickings!

...still searching......there were thousands to choose from.....

All Myles wanted to do was to get down. I had him in the sling, but he kept trying to dive out. I did finally let him down. He wanted some of those things. He was walking until he came to the "watering ditch". It didn't stop the kid.

I want a pumpkin!

I saw Stuart doing this several times before I caught him and got a picture. He must have been riding them....he kept saying, "yeehaw!"

Macy had to test one out too!

Haulin the keepers to the wagon....

Haulin 'em home!

Yup, we have some whoppers! Grady, Stuart, and Macy picked these huge ones! I kept a smaller round one, and Fiona kept her baby one. She found several more tiny ones that were still green and packed them out too! Myles got ahold of one and kept trying to eat the stem, but it kept him happy enough for the walk out that I was able to keep him in the sling!

So, we'll be having quite the clean and carving party, not to mention tons of seeds to roast! They wanted to start tonight. We tried on their costumes last night, and they did not want to take them off. Having kids at Halloween puts so much more fun into the holiday!

Some of those pumpkins are as big as Myles! We picked ours out of our garden Saturday and got 4 pretty good sized ones. The 5th one is still green and hopefully didn't freeze last night like Kruze's!
