Our Life...

Well, it's official. I am 30. Ouch...it hurt's to say that! I had lots of phone calls to wish me well, and had some funny things said to me. Here are a few:

* My dad said, "I can remember when I thought 30 was old!" Ummmm....yahhh Dad, I still do think that 30 is old!

* "Do mommies really not get birthdays anymore?...because Daddy says they do." asks Macy. This was the day after I told her that because I didn't want my birthday to come (remember the "old" part?).

* My mom proceeded to tell me about her morning thoughts. They were all about the day I was born, and then she said that she was 110 lbs when she walked out of the hospital with me in arms. Ugghhh.....thanks, Mom. I was one of them that people asked when I would have that baby after I already had. But the memories made my day!

My wonderful babies, lead by the beautiful Miss Macy, sang me "Happy Birthday" twice. Stuart baked the cake, and frosted it all by himself. I was not going to go shopping or cook dinner on my day, so I told Grady that we were going out to eat. We only had an hour (he had scouts), so we were pretty disorganized (really?) on our decision making, and ended up at Denny's. I remember eating there tons when I was younger, and he did say that his dinner was good, so maybe it'll be a new tradition for us. Our kids ate ALL of their dinner, which rarely happens.

Yesterday we canned tomatoes and applesauce while listening to Conference. Yah, I have a kitchen counter again! I went to a scrapbooking store and a very cool one right next to it with Jasey. It was fun for me to get out alone, and I found some good bargains. Next time anyone is in town, remind me to show you the Raffia store. It is crazy expensive, but the ideas are great, so bring your cameras too!

Grady is out working right now, so we have Conference recording upstairs right now. The kids have packed all pillows, blankets and stuffed animals to the living room and I moved the couch so that they could have two "clubs". I'll try to get some pictures to share. It's cute. I'm off to find a snack. Have a wonderfu Sunday!

It soudns like you had a good birthday! Just remember you are only as old as you feel. Vern was in denial when he turned 30. It was a BAD word in our house! LOL

Was it difficult to can tomatoes? I want to can some salsa here soon. I got all of the stuff to do it mostly i am missing a coupe items that i need to get but i am a little skeptical. My mom just canned some moose meat and it is fabulous.

Well we are off to church! Have a great Sunday!

Oh Ashli....the scrapbooking store called and Deana and I were their number one customers for last quarter! LOl so we have coupons at the store! It was funny though, Casey(the lady at the store) called the house to tell me and i was gone and vern answered the phone and he asked why she was calling so he could take a message for me and she wouldn't tell him....I have got her trained! LOL

Happy belated birthday. Sounds like lots of good food, cake and memories! Don't worry, 30 isn't nearly as bad as everyone says. 40 might be harder for me. Have a good week.

I freaked out when I turned 30...I'll admit it! Now I'm 31 1/2 and I don't care anymore - it grows on you after a while. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that even though I'm pregnant, I'm still not in the "old pregnant" category according to my doctor, so I can pretend I'm recapturing my youth:) Sounds you got to RELAX on your day, which is all I'd hope for you! Happy Birthday!

Well my friend 30 isn't so bad, right? Well, it sure would be better for me if YOU lived HERE so we could celebrate these special days together!! I had a rough time with 30 but with getting Kaitlyn right before and then having my parents move here and you visit . . . I can deal with it!! Now if I could just make myself exercise and get rid of this extra 20lbs I would feel even better!! I wish I could come to that store!! Maybe I need to plan a trip!!
