I AM Blessed...

Yesterday Grady had another day of work and ended up staying in Wyoming overnight to get it finished up. I had a PTO meeting at the school and was pretty worried about dragging my kids with me to it. I had planned to cancel my attendance, but they were begging me to go AND they ate all of their dinner to be able to go....so off we went. It was well below freezing out, but we managed to get there. They weren't the best behaved, but we made it through. Mostly thanks to the acceptance of the three other PTO members. After the meeting we took a detour to view the Christmas lights around the area.

Amazingly Myles loved the trip. I was sure that he had fallen asleep since he was so quite in the car, but when we arrived home, he was wide awake. Macy was out. She was up way too early yesterday, so that didn't surprise me. What did make my heart smile was how much Stuart and Fiona loved that trip. We followed a trolley through one subdivision, and Stu said how he wished that he could ride one.... We talked about the pretty lights and we talked about the various Nativity sets that people had up. Stuart has been so into the Reason for the Season this year. He loves the Nativity sets! Fiona was very concerned that her Daddy wasn't there to enjoy it with us and has plans for another trip that he can attend. I tried explaining to her that he was "working his tail off" and she quickly replied, "Daddy not have a tail". What a bunch of smart children I have.

When we arrived home, we ate a slice of lemon poppyseed bread that a friend brought over and then we brushed teeth ontime for a quick story. I read one from the Christmas Dozen to them, and a small Alaska one for Fiona. As I was getting ready to begin the tuck in process, Stuart asked if I would read The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey to them because it is his favorite story. Fiona asked me to tuck her into bed because she "not feelin so good". The older two and I sat up for 40 minutes past their bedtime reading and snuggling. What a wonderful evening it was for this momma.
