Snow, Snow, & More Snow!

Winter is here! I'm not as excited as the kids, especially since Grady beat me to the shoveling this morning.....although it is still coming down, so I may get my chance yet. Here's some of the fun our "marshmallows" have been having:

Macy's snowman that she made (all by herself!) yesterday after school. I went with Macy to school yesterday to be a "Parent Volunteer" for the morning. Her teacher was gone, so I helped out the sub. It was so much fun. I was able to do some bullentin board changes, make some more pages for the kids' portfolios and make a new one for a new boy, get a few lessons pulled from the books, and have lunch with Macy. Grady and the kids did some running around while I was there and then came to pick me up. We did a few more stops on the way home, but those will come in another post.

Today we were awaken to the sounds of the kids asking to go outside to play in the snow. It wasn't even light yet. We finally got around to it after Grady made Swedish Pancakes for breakfast, and we made our rounds through the shower. We even had a snowsuit for Myles. He loved it! I had to use Fiona's snowboots from last year because this weather hit so fast that I barely had time to find all of the winter stuff.

The snowman that they made today! He did not have any arms yet for this picture. The neighbor girls came down and checked him out and then came back later offering to trade some arms for the guy if we'd give them a carrot! They were pretty small arms, so daddy cut some off of the shrubs for him.
I spent yesterday digging it all out, rearranging the living room to make space for a dog bed (they are getting too old to be out in the cold and the garage is dark....I still do have a heart for them). Today I am knee deep in clothes. Myles and Fiona skipped a year on the clothing, so all of the 2T winter stuff is way to small for FeeBee, and the 12M stuff is too small for Mr. T. I am going through totes and dressers to get set for this cold stuff.

I may post again today to share my birthday gift and crafts, but we are on the hunt for some sleds. I have called around, and only found one store that has any in stock right now. Why? We ALWAYS have snow before Halloween....come on people. Until the next post, keep warm.
