This week has been full of none other than catching up and resting. I came down with a terrible head cold AGAIN and have spent many of hours laying on the couch watching cartoons with my babies. I am so congested that it just hurts to do much other. One of Grady's employees quit last week, and the other became a new father (again, baby #2) early Monday morning, so Grady has been manning the fort alone and has had a few late nights. He's back teaching cub scouts tonight, so it's been lots of the kids and I time here. I have, however, been able to catch up on some of the stuff that still has to be done:
*Laundry is caught up. Folded. Still needs to be put away. Camping stuff is back in the camper.
*Pears were officially canned on Tuesday night! We now have 11 quarts to enjoy at a later date!
* I mopped the kitchen and dining floor. I HAD to, have you ever pealed, pitted, and canned pears without the sticky mess?
*Camper is clean! I vacuumed and washed down everything....including the window full of fingerprints from last fall. The kids love to write on the foggy window in the mornings :)
*I cleaned out the shower and the bath tub. There was a huge ring around the tub from washing off our last camping trip....and I just could NOT bathe them in a dirty tub. Uggghhh. So, while I was at it, I scrubbed the toilets too!
*I washed the car today! IN THE RAIN! I started on the wheels, and by the time that I was able to do the rest, it was raining on us. I pulled it into the garage and finished drying it off. Grady took it to scouts, so it will be dirty again. :(
*The babies are all bathed and in bed right now. We even had time to read lots of stories before hand. It's amazing how much time you have to spend with them when you keep stepping over all of the toys and let the dishes pile up in the kitchen sink!
We're now gearing up for the Fall Home Improvement Show this weekend. It is supposed to be the biggest one yet! The kids keep singing the song that is playing on the radio and tv. Well, I'm gonna go join my husband in watching McCain's speach! How about Sarah Palin's last night? USA, I believe we have a winner in her!
Have a great night!

How in the world do you get so much done WHILE sick AND while talking to me on the phone all morning?:) You always amaze me!
Jake surprised me with 2 boxes of peaches and one big one of pears last night - they had some cheap at Blairs of all places! I've got my first batch of peaches in the water bath right now...I'm kinda avoiding the pears at the moment cause I don't want to sit there and PEEL them all!! KJ helped get the skins off the peaches, though -- the pears are gonna have to be all me, I'm afraid! NOW I know why its easier with two mamas canning together:)
