YEP, Stuart came to the rescue and turned into my BIG helper! Grandma came along and took some pictures for the blog just as we were finishing up the last jar of pickles. I'm now in the middle of snapping green beans to make some dilly beans out of. That's a long process, and I get to have a break because Stu and Grandma took off for a bit, Fiona is napping, and Myles needs someone to entertain him. That was Macy's job before school came along.
Speaking of school, the smile on her face as she hugged me goodbye this morning kept a smile on my face and the tears from falling. I just can't wait to go pick her up. I've kept an eagle eye on the clock since about 9 this morning. I know that I will get over it, but the house is sooooo quiet without her. She came running up the stairs at 6:30 this morning saying, "OH, Mom, I forgot to wake up today", like she was late or something. She helped me pack her lunch and then found her coin purse so that she could take some money for a milk. She packed a healthy one...freshly snapped green beans, peas pulled out of the pod by HER this morning, a small orange peeled and split apart, and a turkey and cheese sandwich complete with Mayo. PLUS the milk, I'd say that she's going to eat healthier at school then she did at home.
We'll update you on the progress later, this blogging isn't keeping Myles entertained, so I need to go find him BEFORE he finds trouble.....that's what the T in his name stands for right now.
PS....I forgot that I had Grady order a box of peaches and a box of pears yesterday morning, to be delivered this weekend for me to can . What was I thinking? I have to go buy more jars now! But, we'll be set this winter.....RIGHT?
PPS...go visit Grady's blog...he's got a video uploaded from Grandma's computer of the kids at the fair last week.

How do you can pickles?? That's something I've never tried. We're heading down to UT in a week and a half and hoping to get some peaches and pears to can...and maybe enough tomatoes out of the garden for a dozen or so. Remember that crazy day we did all that canning? Heehee:)
How awesome! It looks like we could have a ball canning together! Just looking at the pictures is making me hungry!

Ashley....You have me in the mood to do some canning now. My mom and i did it a couple years ago and Vern ate everything i canned in like the first month. So i need to do it again. I think i am going to do it one weekend while the guys are all gone hunting. It is sure a lot of work though.
Glad Macy is enjoying school!!!
Have a good weekend!
Hooray for the canning! I'm waiting for my tomatoes to make a ton of sauce since my beans didn't amount to squat this year! We do have tons of watermellon and cantelope, though. So, school is hard to get a grasp on? Natalie goes Sept 2, but only 2 days a week. I'm sure I'll spill a few tears, too. Congrats on the new niece (what's her name?) and your scrapbook bages look great. Maybe I'll try to post a few of mine sometime. Hope you have a good week.
