Planes, Trains, & Automobiles, Oh Yah, AND BOATS!

We rented a car on Sunday and took a drive down to Soldotna to visit some friends of ours.  They come down for hunting, so we went to visit them for fishing.  It was fun.  We went out on the boat Monday for a bit, but did not fish.  Stuart caught his FIRST FISH!  Right there, on the Kenai River.  Well, he caught two and they were actually minnows, but it was the neatest for him.  I'll share pictures later.  We drove back Monday for the train ride early Tuesday.  We loved it!  Absolutely amazing!  It is a MUST if you ever visit Alaska.  We saw Dall Sheep and there was talk of some bears, but we didn't get to see them.  While in Seward, we took a 3 hour cruise to see Resurrection Bay.  We were able to see humpback whales, sea lions, puffins, seagulls, bald eagles, murres, and kittiwakes.  One the way to the train station, the guys saw a moose.  It was a wonderful trip today.  Very busy, but wonderful.  Well, I have photos to share, but they are still on the camera, and we need to hit the bed.  Up at 4 a.m., and it is now midnight.  Long day.  Good night All.

Rule #1 since i have been in Alaska is don't fall in the water! that is a rule you can live by. i told the kids that if they would not go in the water, i would not have to go in the water. all the water i have seen up here has been damn cold!!!
