Okay....Credits FIRST.....the flower on the "E" block below fell off of a card that I received in the mail from Sandy.....I did not make it, but loved it and had to recycle it. Thanks Sister Z!
As I was reading my fellow blogs, I realized that today must have just been the day for mommas to craft with their children. So, sticking with the train, I had to share ours too. Here are a few pictures:
Macy brought home the glittery egg yesterday from school. She said, "that they taped the cross off with masking tape and then finger painted the entire egg. She went to wash her hands and came back to sprinkle glitter on it. After it dried, while we were at home, the teachers pulled off the tape." Gotta love a preschool ran in a church basement. No one with children in public schools will be packing home beauties like this next week. I just love it and am so happy that we have given Macy the opportunity to attend preschool.
I also "block lifted" (??) this idea from a friend of mine here in town. She makes some way cuter, and way larger (which I will do), but I had to modify today for the hunk of wood that I had in the garage. I got out the good ole chopsaw and had to call Grady just to see how to unlock it so that I could lift it up to wack these blocks out. I sat on the cold garage floor and sanded the corners to "about a 45 degree" angle. The kids and I painted each block a different color. Scraps of paper were glued down and then I took the razer to it to trim off the excess. I "freaked out" Macy when I accidentally sliced into my thumb and had to put on a bandaid to keep the blood from ruining our project. :) Oh, the sacrifices we make for our hobbies! I cut some letters off of the Cricut and then modge podged the entire block.
Macy and I added some embellishments after the blocks dried....and wha-laa, we have an Easter decoration to put between the bunnies Nana gave us a few years back!
I am planning to take a different spin on these for some gifts next Christmas (maybe sooner for the LePage family). They are fun!
