I was not welcomed to go on the adventures today. Grandma took Macy and Stuart alone while Fiona took a nap. They had lots of fun together and came home with some goodies. So, there are no pictures to post. I'll try tomorrow. We may attempt a road trip up north to explore.
We went out to dinner tonight since I was supposed to have a Primary Teacher meeting tomorrow night. I came home to a message that it was cancelled. We went to Red Lobster. We arrived at 5 in hopes of beating the crowd, which we did. We sat down and ordered our drinks and appetizers. We ordered 3 appetizers and one arrived. They promised the other two immediately, but it took a while to get them. We were pretty much done with the appetizers before the dinner order was taken. When dinner arrived, drinks were refilled and the table clearing started immediately. Grandma had upgraded her crab from Snow Crab to King Crab, but Snow Crab arrived. She was concerned about it, but was not going to say anything. I finally convinced her to at least ask. When her refill arrived, she started to ask. The waitress didn't even take a look at it and said that it was the wrong order and that the King would be right out. I was happy that she asked because by the way that everything happened, I was sure that they were aware of the wrong and were just going to charge for the King. We just figured it was the normal pick up the empties to clear some space, but the cleaning never really ended. The waitress kept coming back taking more plates and more napkins. Grandma didn't even get to finish her dinner before her plate was taken. We felt completely rushed to get out of the place. However, the hold up was not our fault. The waitress took forever to bring the bill and we just sat at the empty table waiting. She announced that she would take the money when we were ready, but, again we sat and waited. Finally I just said to take the check to her. On our way out we saw tons of workers, but not the waitress. Finally, we left the check with the gals at the front.
What in the heck is going on with employees these days? We had terrible service at Hobby Lobby yesterday and Walmart is the same way. Do they need to place a required class in high school on work ethics? I just could not get over the lack of customer service that people are displaying these days. We are still laughing at that waitress tonight.
Does anyone else have a funny from eating out?

SO FUNNY! Similar has happened to us several times and it is so hard to leave a nice tip when service stinks so bad!! Jeff has mentioned we should leave a penny with a note on the napkin "tip . . .take care of your customers!" but we haven't done that yet.
I could actually see Jeff doing that if it were a place that he would not visit again. I could have done it tonight since we only left cash, but Grandma wasn't so bitter about it. I can be a mean one, ya know?
Yikes...I wouldn't have been too amused to have an expensive plate of food taken before I was done!! Did they have a "comment card" to fill out?
Anyway...once we were at a Mexican restaurant in Provo and the waitress totally spilled salsa all over Jake's new white T-shirt. She goes, "oh, sorry - I'll get you a free coke." Um, okay...can we get some stain stick with that??
I could never make it as a waitress -- its one of those jobs where you'd have to be superhuman to keep everybody happy!
Sandy...A free coke should have covered the cost of the shirt...RIGHT? Sometimes these things are so crazy funny that you can only laugh at them. You're right, serving others in that form would be hard, but you have to put their desires over the fact that you want another set of customers at the table for another tip. It's gotta be common sense???
