A Few Days of Our Life

Friday evening I wanted to take the kids out looking for decorated houses. We stopped by Justin's to see if he had any idea where the best place would be to go, and met Uncle Jim. He had just picked up Isabel, Sage, and Toni (with one on the way!). We went to dinner with them and had a nice visit before they headed back home. We never did find any lights, but had fun all the same.

Yesterday, Nana, Carly, and Paige stopped in for a short hello while they were in town doing some last minute running around. It was nice to see Paige, she seems so far away in Laramie.

I also made two dutch apple pies for the Ward Christmas dinner yesterday morning. Stuart was questioning what the dark things were falling out of the cores. I explained to him what they were, and then we came up with the idea to plant the apple seeds. He is telling everyone that we planted apple trees, so I hope that something will really grow in our cups.

Grady has spent the past week making a blanket for Fiona. With hers finished and extra material, he made another. Macy has been saying for several days that she wanted to give it to Emily (a girl at church). Grady explained that he would give the blanket to Macy when it was finished, and she could do whatever she wanted with it. Well, she pondered a bit, and then said she was giving it to Emily because she already had one from her dad and Emily didn't have one. As soon as it came out of the dryer, we wrapped it up and Macy carried it all the way to church. When she found Emily, she sent her daddy to the suburban to get it. We thought that that was the best example of knowing what the season is all about. (She has been wanting a new vanity and has been saying that she would sell her Cinderella one to KJ and Heather, or give it to Fiona and then she could have a new one....so you see how this one comes as a surprise to us). Anyway, here is a picture of Macy posing for the camera. I had to get one for this entry.

On our way to dinner, Grady had me drive for some odd reason. We were so early that there were only two other cars in the lot, so I drove into a neighborhood to look around at the area. We found a street that was so decorated up with lights for Christmas, so we did get to see some, just a little later than origianlly planned. After the dinner, kids were able to decorate sugar cookies. What a mess that was, I'm so happy that I was not in charge of that one. We left with half a dozen cookies, so we took some over to Justin's house. He ate them all.

After Church today, we all ate lunch, Grady headed back to meet with the Bishop, and the rest of us took a nap. After our nap was over, we made some candy cane looking cookies. Here is a picture of third tray. Macy got a bit creative about her cookies. The last pan was full of snowmen (balls baked together), and a baby.

Well, that sums up our weekend. We do need to shout out to Elisa....she started walking today! A few weeks before her first birthday. I'm not ready for Fiona to do that yet. I should go get these babies ready for bed. Grady is out on home visiting tonight, so we had some fun in a fort, and took a bath (they had tubes and were blowing their own bubble bath), then we experimented with the vinegar/baking soda bubbles trick. I do need to get Fiona down, she's sounding pretty tired. Have a great evening.
