Big Boys, Thanksgiving, & Parade

We've talked Stuart into trying out the big boy undies and a training toilet. He is really wanting to use it when he is wearing the undies, but only wants them on every once in a while. He has had a few accidents, acutally he hasn't gone in the toilet yet, but will sit on the thing forever. I read him five stories yesterday trying to get it done. I'm sure that once he does go, he will be ready to try again with a little less convincing on our part. Maybe this is the start of a great thing! Our Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful. We had everything, from homemade mashed potatoes and homemade stuffing (I was amazed!), to the sweet potatos and pumpkin pie. I was amazed that I was able to find some of the things I am used to for a dinner when we weren't with our usual families. We were very welcomed into the ward, and the kids had a wonderful time too. I'm happy we were able to attend. How wonderful it was to have someone welcome thirty people into their home for dinner and three hours of play. I missed our traditional family feast, but took full advantage of this opportunity to meet families and friends.

We just got home from the Downtown Parade about an hour and half ago. I am still cold in the toes, and we only attended half of it which amounted to an hour long visit. WOW! We have never had a parade last that long, usually the twenty minute wave at everyone you know ones back home. We had freebies such as kettle corn, hot cider, twinkies (YES, twinkies!), candy, and I even saw some toothbrushes being handed out. It was pretty amazing. My favorite was the FedEx truck. It was decorated just like in the commercials with the back full of wrapped gifts, and the covered with string lights. It's such a large event, that the it came down one street and back up the next block. Both sides of the streets were packed with people. Simply Amazing to us small town folks.

What a cheery end to our seventh anniversary. SEVEN YEARS! They've gone by pretty fast. Another family date, but hey--we've got Nickelback tickets for February. That will be our alone date! We just have to find a babysitter for a Sunday evening. Hopefully we will know some young gals by then.
