Winter Park

Finally, I am taking the time to post again.
Over President's Day weekend, we took a trip to Colorado for some snowboarding fun at Winter Park. My brother got a new snowboard this year, and it came with a free lesson, lift ticket, and rental; so I jumped on the offer to use them! Thanks, Kaden and Sheila for thinking of me! I took my lesson on Valentine's Day and am hooked. It's alot of work, but soooooo fun! I took our camera, but the spare battery and charger were left at home, so all these came from our blackberry phones. My sister and her three kids followed us up Thursday. We had rented a one bedroom condo before we found out she was coming, so it was a bit cramped the first night. She and her son, Nicholas went up Friday for some fun while Grady and I took care of her two daughters.
After about half of the day, she came back and Grady used the rest of her lift ticket to enjoy some time with Nick. He even took pictures to share! While they were out, we moved to the condo next door which had three bedrooms. A friend from high school and his daughter came up Friday night for some fun.

The top is Nicholas on Saturday with Grady and Rudy. It was not the sunniest day for them, but they managed to wear themselves out anyway! Below is Nick on Friday afternoon with Grady.

Nicholas was such a trooper. I can not believe he managed to ride for two days straight! He was wore out and slept well after those days!

Here's a picture of Grady from Saturday. It was a snowy day. There was a crash on the pass that afternoon, so Rudy and Abbie were "forced" to stay another night. That did not break Macy's heart. She has made a buddy that she can't wait to see again!

Friday afternoon, Myles put on Grady's boots! He is gonna be a rider too!

Here's another from the cramped condo. Sorry they did not load in order. Elisa and Auvrie are such cuties! I am happy that we got to see them!

Here's the backside of Winter Park at the top. Mary Jane is a historic trail. Looks pretty cold and gloomy there. This resort was huge! I rode all day during my lesson, and only manged to use two lifts. I did stay in the learning area all day though!

While the guys were out on Saturday, we took this kids down to the pool and enjoyed some swimming and hot tubs. This is Macy, Fiona, and Abbie.
I'm pretty sure that we are going to make snowboarding an annual President's Day weekend event. We're already working on next year's plans for Vail, hopefully! And then Park City the year after. I just need to get up the hill here and get some more practice in.
