Independance Day Camping

We headed out last Thursday in hopes of finding a great campsite. We ended up in the Cascade campground up above Red Lodge. Our camp hosts were very friendly and there were not too many other campers around. It was a nice quiet setting for the weekend. The creek was high and fast, but we managed to find a spot slow enough for a bath. The kids were a bit against it, but I wanted to wet my hair. We all were in twice before the weekend was over. Did I mention that it was FREEZING? The trips in were very quick because a person was easily cramped by the coldness.

Macy ended up down on the bottom bunk with Fiona one night. We're not sure if she fell down there because the sleeping bag was so slick or if she went down on her own. This is now the girls' room and the boys' room is the couch and dining table....

Stu.....started out in the bag, and kicked it completely off. I had to cover him up so he wouldn't freeze.

We went down to Red Lodge to watch the parade. Not very patriotic, but we walked away with a load of candy. We went back down to watch fireworks, but they were not as great as I was hoping and the kids were well ready for bed, so we went home. We have to do our own. That's the BEST!

While waiting for the fireworks, we found this great park. Here's Myles playing in the music area. He danced the night away.
