We Meet the MATE...

We picked up Macy from preschool with her huge bundles of Valentine's, art projects, and an empty backpack.  She took in sugar cookies that we baked yesterday and frosting to decorate cookies today at school.  They must have been a hit because she told me that they had to use them all and they ate them there too.  Imagine 20 kids on a cookie frosting adventure and then the sugar high?  I bet that they ate them right before it was time to go so that the parents got the fun part.

We headed straight to the Metra for the MATE show.  I took several pictures of the kids "driving" tractors and excavators, but I will post them another day.  We just got home and warmed up sloppy joes for dinner (leftovers from the YM Camp fundraiser dinner last night.  My kids loved them!  I had never made them for the kids since Grady is not a big fan.  We may have to have them for lunch sometimes.  Grady ate taquitos for dinner and then ran back out the door for Cub Scouts tonight.

We'll head back to the Metra tomorrow.  If anyone comes to town and wants some tickets, we have TONS!  It is a pretty neat show and you get tons of free candy, pens, fans, etc.  It's a great way to let the kids get some exercise when the wind is too cold to go outside.  I think that Saturday we may head to the park if the wind is calm.  We're forcasted to be 50 degrees again!

That sums up our Valentine's Day.  Grady shaved his beard completely off for me as my gift!  I loved it!  He just looks so young that I feel like the older one walking around with him.  Did anyone have a fun story to share with us?  Happy Valentine's Day!

Sounds like you guys had fun! We'd come up and go with you to the show...but we're MOVING today:)

Grady is now clean-shaven, huh? I don't think Jake will shave the goatee any time soon - he looks REALLY REALLY young when he does and I think he's afraid his students and ward members won't take him seriously, haha:)

What a fun day!! Our Valentine's Day was spent at the Caveman show in Vegas. It was very entertaining and we got involved in it. After the show I went to the restroom and the lady behind me said, "Hi Deana I know you from the show." I thought it was funny.
