We have just spent the past TWO HOURS at the clinic waiting to have poor Stuart looked at. We just had a lesson on dependability Monday night and I was reinforcing how dependable he was at night time to sleep all night. And then last night actually came. Stuart had the most terrible night. He started in on some sleep talking and whining while I was fighting to get Myles to sleep. I asked him what was wrong, but he would not answer, so I discarded it as a dream. Later he was in our bed whining that his ear hurt. THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER HAD A KID CRY OVER A HURT EAR! My first instinct was to grab the drops we were given for Fiona's ear. I placed a few in his to no relief. I finally told him that I had to put him back into his own bed so I could get some sleep. I gave him some tylenol and then put him to bed. He got up and went to the bathroom and then was back in bed and asleep. First thing this morning he was crying about his ear again. I just assumed that he had an ear infection since our house seems to be INFECTED with EAR INFECTIONS! I tried the drops again and then told him that I thought we needed to go to the doctor. He gave me some speach about how his ears were tricking him and that they were fine then. Later, he was back at the aching and soreness. I tried our pediatrician but he wasn't in today, so we avoided the downtown traffic by heading to the west end clinic for same day care. My poor son was so afraid of seeing a doctor. He tried to talk me out of it again. After sitting in the clinic waiting area for 1 1/2 hours, Stuart fell asleep on the chair. Fiona was just about to follow when we finally got called back. I had to give Myles to the nurse and carry Stuart back. He refused to sit on the exam table, so the doctor just gave him the exam in the chair. Sure enough, we are fighting another ear infection.
We dropped Macy off at school 30 minutes late and I brought the younger ones home to get some sleep. I will pick up the medication when I go pick her up. I'm hoping that Grady will be home prior to then so that I don't have to drag these sick babies back out, but am kind of doubtful right now. :(
I just have to add that the title is Stuart's new famous saying. ha.ha.ha. AND, I came up with a new title for myself. THE FOUR-TIME FRENCH FRIED MOMMA. That's exactly how I feel right now. Does anyone know a super-duper-house-disinfecting tablet that I can release before I leave and have all of these sicko germs gone when I return in 30 minutes? If so, I would love to have it overnighted here at my own expense.
Okay, I will post updates later, I need to hit the laundry room while everyone is calm for the moment. Have a great Wednesday!

What a rough run at ear infections. I feel so sorry for the kids and you too! I SO WISH you were closer so I could help you! I think that kids are just little "petri dishes" and all these "bugs" have to run their course to build up the little kiddos immune systems. Our prayer is that it will end soon so you all can get some rest!!
OH man!! When we had our ear infection fiasco a year ago, it was 3 of us at once - mama with the worst one. It HURTS. I cried like a baby the night before I finally went in to the doctor. It feels like your whole head is on fire and under pressure- I seriously have not experienced pain like that before - I mean pain in conjunction to being sick or something. Anyway- I feel for all of you!! Its not fun - hopefully they'll all get it over with and you'll be germ free soon!
I am soo sorry I wish I could help out some way. We will add you to our prayers.
I forgot to mention when I posted before: I LOVE "FOUR TIME FRENCH - FRIED MOMMA!" How clever!
