That's Right Folks....A SNOW Day!

It all started coming down yesterday just before lunch. Yes, we were warned...but, come on, is the weatherman ever right? I did manage to get the garage reorganzied and the suburban inside before it started. Although, I had to do some running around last night so the water still made it's way inside. Here's what we woke up to this morning: In light of the temptation, I had to run out today to pick up some wheat that we purchased, and made a pit stop at Target (pronounced: Tar-Jay! for you small town folks! haha.) Macy took it upon herself to decorate Myles for the occasion since he was the only one that did not get snow boots today. And, I must say, I was not the only parent that waited until the snow flew to get these things. That isle was a blizzard in it's self. Thank you very much! Here's our snowflake sporting his cute hat...thanks auntie jill :)
Daddy was home early today, so the big kids talked him into venturing out to try out the new stylish boots. Here's the only picture that I got BEFORE they noticed I was taking photos of them:
And, the after:
In other news:
I had to reorganize the garage today since the yardsale clothing was right in the path of snow melt drainage in the garage. Why don't they put an actual drain in these things? I hope that I am safe now. And I baked a Dutch Apple Pie TO share for Thanksgiving. We head south tomorrow morning for some fun with the family. All of the grandchildren will be at my dad's house, so hopefully no one gets sick this time and we can have some fun!
I also made my first advent calendar last Friday night. Here's a picture of it:

It was someone else's plan, so the layout isn't quite right, but that's what I get for going to enrichment and then coming home to cut my own tags, snowflakes and letters instead of waiting, and waiting, and waiting to use the one thing there for 15 ladies to share. On the back I found some kind things to do and a scripture reading for every night. I printed them on labels and stuck them to the tags. The kids are way excited for it. They ask every night when we can start doing it.

We'll be home Friday to decorate for the Christmas holiday and maybe, just maybe, hit up some sales. Grady has already offered to stay home with the kids, so..... if anyone wants to come up...we have a free babysitter!

If we're not going to see you this weekend, have a yummy, joyful and

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I love your calendar!! That turned out awesome! I'm sure the kids will love using it...and maybe will keep them in the right spirit for Christmas:) We got snow today, boohoo. Our winter gear is mostly still in the storage unit, waiting to move into the new house. I did keep out the snow boots and coats...but we have exactly 3 kid-sized gloves and 1 mitten in the house at the moment (KJ gets to take the one matching pair of gloves to school, haha).
