A Wonderful Vacation Home

We traveled back to Wyoming ten days ago for hunting and to visit family and friends. We stopped for cousin Eli's second birthday. Stuart had a wonderful time playing with him. After what seemed to be a "forever-and-a-half" trip to Alaska, Eli made it home only one week earlier. We sure had a great time, and Auntie made an AWESOME pumpkin cake. Here's Stu enjoying one of Eli's birthday gifts.
We ventured into "the shack" later Saturday afternoon, & the first thing Macy and Stuart wanted to do was swim in the hot tub. Stuart is finally tall enough to stand up in the middle, so I had to show everyone how big he is. He also was the best helper. He wanted to make cookies for the hunters, so Fiona sat up and watched us make them. I must say that we baked these cookies on an old stove that we had to continually watch & fill with wood for heat. We actually got the hang of it. Not evident by the burnt cookies. His favorite thing was to start the fire. He even ended up with a couple of nice burns from the heating stove. He was running (after a week of warning) & tripped. He tried to save himself by grabbing the wood burning stove and OUCH. We have been changing bandages and putting medication on them twice a day.
We headed down the mountain Tuesday. We stopped at the blue house to take a shower and visit our friends at preschool and the Zent family. We enjoyed seeing everyone at home. The babies fell asleep going to town, so we picked up Kaden and Grandma and took them to the orthodontist. Uncle Kaden had Macy and Stuart pick out colors for his bands. He now has a mouth of pink and blue. How sweet was that? We spent a few days with Grandpa, and Great Grandpa came to visit too. Fiona had them wrapped around her tiny little finger. It was a WONDERFUL visit home. Grandpa taught Fiona to say "Ut Oo". It turned into a fun game that she still enjoys playing. Mommy has figured it out, but brother and sister still think it is fun too. Fiona even got to eat a fruit rollup with her grandpas.

I was able to bake a three foot long mermaid cake for Macy's fourth birthday. She was thrilled with it. We added a package of kool-aid to the frosting to color it "purple" and flavor it. That was something new for me. It worked great! This was two boxes of cake, and grandpa had to cut some wood for the base because we could not find a box long enough. THANK YOU!

We rounded off the trip by heading back up the mountain. Daddy skipped a hunting outing to take the kiddos sledding. They had a blast! They were so excited to get to put on their snow boots. We've had them for a few years now, and they have either been too big or there was never any snow for them to be used. We really had a nice time going home, and hope to be back soon for another visit.
